Korean Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Makeup Makeup Makeup

Intro

As most you of you guys know, I am obsessed with everything that has to do with Korea.  Even right now I'm listening to Kpop while writing this blog heeehee.  I decided to do a makeup tutorial on Korean makeup because their way of using makeup is a little bit different from the U.S.  It may seem kind of weird but work with me because I am actually excited to do this blog post.  Okay, let's get started!

Step 1

Apply BB cream, foundation, lotion or what ever type of base you like to use to start with.  In Korea, they want to have lighter skin (the ideal skin color) so they usually choose a lighter shade from their body...I think our own skin color is beautiful but what ever floats your boat.

Any Base

Step 2

I am going to apply some eyeshadow primer before applying eyeshadow and eye liner because it lasts longer and prevents smudging.  I bought the Naked Pallet 3 which came with Urban Decay samples so I took advantage of this.  (I was soo excited cause I couldn't buy the fifty dollar eye primer with the other fifty dollar eyeshadow pallet.)

Samples

Step 3

I am taking this neutral matte color (beige or light brown) as the over all base.  Koreans do not use much eye shadow because they want to aim for a natural look.  This eyeshadow just gives a small spice to your eyes.  After applying the basic "coat" for the eyes take a shimmery or sparkly pink eyeshadow to highlight under your eyes.  This gives a soft glow to your eyes and shows "aegyo" fat; if you have "aegyo" fat it is meant to make your look younger and youthful. If you want you, can use some of your light eyeshadow to highlight the brow bone too.

Beige or Light Brown

Step 4

Now, I am taking a pencil liner (Bare Minerals Big and Bright in Black Coffee) to line my eyes.  It doesn't HAVE to be a pencil but I prefer it because it gives a softer look and again with the youthful kind of image.  I am lining the eye at the base and at the end of the line this is when the key part of Korean concept comes in.  You want to keep the line down as you draw it instead of winging it.  This downward eye line gives a puppy eye feel and the particular line technique is extremely popular in Korea. (Here is more information on the technique wengie.com)

Keep the eyeliner down

Step 5

The easiest step is to curl dem lashes and add coats of mascara.  There isn't a perfect way to apply but I love mascara because it makes my eyelashes apear to be longer and fuller.  (Hahahahaahah even though they are sooooo short.)

Mascara!!!

Step 6

For blush, I am barely using (The Bare Minerals Avent-Garden) lighten my cheeks.  You want to gently fluff your cheeks with the blush brush. WIth the light skin tone and natural look, blush isn't necessary but I will use a small amount for the fun of it.

Step 7

For the last and final step take a shade of light pink or orange lipgloss.  The ombre look or orange lips are THE trend in Korea.  I didn't feel like wearing ombre lips but there will be a picture of it at the end of the blog.

Yayay we have finally finished the look and now you know how to apply a Korean styled makeup.  (You can let your hair down after all your makeup is done... yes yes) I hoped this helped and was fun to read, it was soooo hard to take these pictures and awkward because my parents thought I was taking selfies when in reality I was actually taking selfies for English!  Thank you and as always stay beautiful;)

Oh and here is the picture for the Korean Ombre Lips, they actually look pretty cool.  As you can see it starts with from a dark shade and transforms into a light or neutral color. Comment below if you want to try out the ombre look!

What's in My Backpack?

What's in my Backpack?

Intro

For this weeks blog, I have planned on showing you guys what I usually pack in my backpack for school.  All these items aren't limited you to what to pack but just giving an example of what I usually carry during school days.  As the year is winding down, more piles of homework is given so I think this is a great time, let's begin!

Backpack

As you can see here, my backpack is from the company TrailMaker (ClassyChic's sister gave this to me, thank you) and has continuous hearts printed on.  I think the colors compliment well with each other and it can match with every outfit. (An advantage with a pink and brown backpack)  We have laptops at our school so carry mine in a beat up laptop case which I kept for three years now.  I guess you can say that the laptop and the backpack are like a package.

Carrying both can become heavy

Pocket #1

In my first and smallest pocket of the backpack is where I place my phone and keys. It's a pocket to keep more important items because I usually won't pull things in and out constantly.  It keeps my phone and keys safe. (Tip: Keep your phone and keys somewhere safe.  Place them in the same spot in order to not lose.)

My phone

My Keys

Pocket #2

In my second pocket or second smallest pocket is where I just keep random little knick-knacks in.  For example, my mom always nags about keeping tissues so I have a big stash of three packages.  Hey, you never know when that bloody nose will be in extreme need of tissues. The second thing I have in here are my headphones.  I always keep a pair of headphones just in case I feel like I'm in the mood for listening to music.  The last item are my erasable color pencils.  School always ask from coloring a map to color coding words; I can whip these out and be ready for any assignment.

Random/Not Random Items

Pocket #3

In my third to largest pocket, I keep more important items for school.  I would recommend everyone (especially students in high school) to keep a planner.  As your classes progress and become difficult, the planner will save your life and your your grade.  It will also keep you from becoming a crazy lunatic.  The second item I keep in my backpack are my glasses.  I despise wearing my glasses but I am forced to in order for me to see the board.  The last item is pink pearly beauty bag for products.  When ever I am wearing perfume, lotion, or deodorant;  I carry extra with me because you never know when you will be in need for these important products.
Important Items

Pocket #4

The last and biggest pocket holds all my books, binders, and notebooks.  Usually I keep my pencil bag, homework binder, and an extra notebook (if I ever need more paper) on a regular daily basis. Today I brought my Spanish and Biology binders home to study (oh the joy) and my English book To Kill A Mocking Bird.  I can also just throw an extra thing in here since it is the biggest pocket..duh.. to carry to school.

Inside View

Three current items in my backpack

Yayay! We are finally finished with my backpack.  Somedays it can be full and weigh up to a thousand pounds  but other days it weighs light as a feather.  I hope you guys enjoyed the post and as always, stay beautiful!

Pow Wow Nails

Intro

Hello...lately I needed something new with my nails because they were starting to bore me.  Do you ever get the feeling of a dull nails?  I was thinking of what I should do for my blog, of course I went to research and saw the DIY nail art. What a perfect way to fancy up the nails and make them BEAUTIFUL!  Let's get started!

What you will need:

  • Tape
  • Three colors of nail polish
  • Paper towels
  • Scissors
  • Slumber Party (this one isn't a MUST)

Step One

Take your tape (average type) and cut the tape in three slits.  It depends on how thick or thin your lines want to be.  As seen in the picture please do NOT cut the tape in half because you are going to stick your tape onto your nails for an outline.

Any type of pattern

Put on the tape to the nail

Step Two

Take your lightest color of nail polish and just add a base coat.  This way, when you layer it will be easier to see.
Base coat (I used Essie for all nail polish)

Step Three

Stick on your tape onto your nail, have the tape be from nail to nail.  Make sure the tape is on so if you apply the nail polish it won't move.  Have the second darkest shade for this layer.  (Tip: Let it dry for at least twenty minutes)
Apply the nail polish

Step Four

Carefully move up the tape to make another layer.  Have the previous nail polish be dried before moving it up.  Then take the darkest shade of nail polish and apply it. (Again dry the nail polish for twenty minutes)  Tada!!!!

Wait twenty minutes before taking off

Add another color (preferred)

I hope you guys liked the tutorial and it thought it was SUPER easy:)  It takes time and practice for it to be perfect.  Don't worry if it looks messy, it took me at least four tries to look at least presentable.  (Keep trying( These are your Pow Wow Nails and as always stay beautiful;) For my idea I found the idea from debshops.

"What you know about me?"

"What you know about me?"

Intro

Hello! This is your blogger Tushig and Happy Valentines Day!  No, I am not going to show you a Valentines Day Look because it is too late but today I will be showing you an easy but gorgeous looking hair style.  I named it after a song because this week I have been obsessed, I  even made a dance to it ("What you know about me?").   This is mainly girls with long hair but if you short hair, go for it no one is holding you back.  Yes yes...let's get started.

What you will need:

  • a hair band
  • couple of bobby pins (ones that are closest to your hair color)
  • hairspray (if you want)
  • a sassy attitude (duh!)

First

Brush your hair so all the nasty tangles are out.  You can skip this step if you are bbblllessseedd with not tangled hair (I'm jealous).

Second

Take a small amount of hair just below your ear.  This will be the hair that will be the "headband braid." Take this part of hair and start braiding it (Hint: hold up your hair while braiding so when you pull over your piece of hair, it wont look all bumpy and strange).

Below the Ears

#Scary

Third

After finishing the braid, pull it over your head and secure the braid with bobby pins.  I recommend a few bobby pins to keep it in place.

Fourth

Take the remaining hair and pull it over to one side (which preferred side you want). Now we are going to braid it (fishtail)...yayayaay.  Okay so if you don't know how to fish tail braid then I will be a nice and show you how.  You first want to split your of hair into two sections.  Let's call these two sections A and B (Section A is the left strand and section B is the right strand).  You take a small piece of hair from section A and move it across to section B.  Then you take a small piece of hair from section B to section A.  After that you pretty much do the same thing until you run out of hair.  Congratulation! Now you know how to fish tail braid :)

First split two strands

Take a small chunk from section A

Move the chunk to section B

Take some chunk from section B
Add it on to section A

Fifth

This is the finished look of the "What you know about me?"  If you want a long lasting look, I would would spray a few spritz of hairspray.   I hope you enjoyed it the new look and as always...stay beautiful:)
